Blooming lovely!
Ive been wading my way through all this range of meals as Im trying to lose some timber, and Ive been rating them all out of 10, but gave this 11! I found it really enjoyable and it tasted really good. I do wish people that complain about the range being watery would read the instructions! The cooking times are approximate i.e my microwave is only 650w so Ill add 2 minutes cooking time. If it says let it stand for a minute, then do just that! It was delicious and I had it with a side salad and a couple nice crispy iceberg lettuce leaves.
Good
I think the other reviews are a bit unfair. This is a decent tasting supermarket curry that comes in at 350kcals. I think it's pretty good to be honest and when you're on a calorie controlled diet it's great to be able to have things that feel like a bit of a treat like this. I thought it was tasty and reasonably filling
watery
The sauce was very thin & watery no taste but left a burning feeling in the mouth very small portion of rice will not purchase again
OK but.............
Got this on 40% off. Would NOT pay the full price for this. Simply not worth it but...... it was actually quite tasty. I do make my own curries but had this as a quick stand by and did add some fresh coriander, a sprinkling of garam masala and a bit of Mr Naga pickle. The BIG problem with this is the lack of rice. Needs to be doubled. All else good. Even the chicken was moist and sufficient for on portion. Sorry cannot recommend at full price and without my tweaks.
tasteless
No heat, no spice, nothing.
Low calorie but why low flavour?
This product is ok and no worse than most other products in the very boring low-calorie market but why do manufacturers believe that if you want to cut down your calories, you must also want to cut down on flavour. Jalfrezi should be spicy and this just isn't. The full-fat version has a 3-chilli rating. Surely the spice content doesn't affect the calorie count.
