Dry and much too sweet
This cake used to be lovely and fruity: now it's just dry, tasteless and unbearably sweet. Definitely not up to normal high standards for M&S - avoid!

Disappointing
Expensive and very dry. Expect better from M&S.
Very nice. Shame about the palm oil
A cery decent cake. Not dry, not at all too sweet. Only one star given as it cantains palm oil - like everything from M and S.
Too Much Sugar
I wish I had taken notice of the reviews. This cake is very dry, and, as another review mentioned, tastes stale. Not only is it overly sweet but it has sugar not only on the top but on the sides and bottom. What is Marks and Spencer thinking of, especially as we are constantly being told to cut down on our sugar intake. I find that so much of M&S food is heavy on sugar and I wish someone at the top would take notice of customers' concern!
Great cake
Lovely cake, perfect country fruit cake, plenty of fruit for this type of cake, everything about it we thought was good. I do sometimes wonder, when reading the reviews, whether people actually try the item they are reviewing. Some of the reviews are ridiculous, I can only presume these people only have fine dining. Keep up the good work Ocado/ M&S, good quality food.
