Cramele Recas, est.1447, is part of Romania's winemaking history but it was Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira who revived its fortunes in 1998. Championing local grapes, it has become a specialist for Feteasca Regala. sourcing fruit from all over Transylvania. Winemakers Hartley smithers and Nora iriate recommend trying it with local Bulz, a feta & ham polenta dish.
