M&S Found Feteasca Neagra

Feteasca Neagră, meaning "Black Maiden", is an ancient grape variety, cultivated in Moldova for centuries. It is renowned for producing deeply coloured wines with a complex and rich flavour profile of dark berries, plums and pepper.

Style: Rich, intense, oaked red wine
Taste: Blackberry, plum, dark chocolate
Food: Pork, chicken, hearty vegetable stews
Moldova's rare black soil imparts unique flavours to its wine and specifically to Feteasca Neagră. Asconi winemakers, Petru Vicol and Ion Mereuta say the wine goes perfectly with pork or chicken stew served with mamaliga (local polenta), scrambled egg, cheese and sour cream.
