Preparation and Usage
This product has been specially vacuum sealed to ensure freshness and eating quality. When the pack is opened you may notice the colour brightening and a faint aroma naturally associated with this technology will quickly disappear.
Handling raw meat safely: this product contains raw meat and must be cooked according to the cooking instructions.
NEEDS COOKING
For best results, SLOW COOK
OVEN SLOW COOK 4-5 hours
ELECTRIC 140˚C / Fan 120˚C / Gas 1
• Remove all packaging (including pad)
• Allow product to stand at room temperature for 30 mins before cooking
• Preheat the oven
• Place joint into a deep roasting tray
• Add diced root vegetables (carrot, celery, onion)
• Add approximately 500 ml stock to cover half the joint, cover with foil and place in the oven
• Remove foil for last 45 mins of cooking. Baste the joint occasionally
• Remove from the oven, cover with foil and rest for 15 mins before carving
OVEN
ELECTRIC 200˚C / Fan 180˚C / Gas 6
MEDIUM 25 mins per 500g
WELL DONE 30 mins per 500g
• Remove all packaging (including pad)
• Allow product to stand at room temperature for 30 mins before cooking
• Preheat the oven
• Oil and season surface of meat
• Place into a deep roasting tray on middle shelf of oven
• Baste the joint occasionally throughout cooking
• Remove from the oven, cover with foil and rest for 15 mins before carving
Do not reheat.
CARVING
• Transfer to a secure chopping board and hold joint with a fork
• Slice the meat across the grain
• Cut down to the bone in even slices, working from one end
• Run the knife along the bone to release the slices
• Continue carving until all meat is removed, trimming any remaining pieces
• Serve slices and drizzle the remaining juices over the meat
