Preparation and Usage


Hot Chilli Con Carne


Serves 4
PREP TIME 5 minutes
COOK TIME 30 minutes


YOU WILL NEED
1 white onion, diced
500g beef mince
1 x 400g red kidney beans, drained
1 x 400g tinned chopped tomatoes
75g cheese, grated
Sour cream and jalapeños to garnish (optional)


COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a saucepan on medium heat. Fry the onions for 5 minutes until golden brown.
2. Add the mince, breaking it up and cook for 5 minutes to brown it.
3. Add seasoning paste, cook for a further minute.
4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and bring to the boil. Cover the pan and simmer for 15 minutes on a low-medium heat, stirring occasionally.
5. Add the kidney beans and stir. Cover the pan and simmer for further 5 minutes. Do not allow the sauce to boil and add a little water if needed. Top with grated cheese, and garnish with sour cream and jalapeños, if desired.

Replacing the mince with mixed beans or chopped vegetables.
