Awful
Floury and without the characteristic JR flavour. Not pleasant, very disappointing.
Poor product hidden behind packaging
That I could not see through the packaging in store raised a quiet note of doubt, but then I thought it is M and S so must be alright. I was wrong. The potatoes are large, and one within my pack was so deformed/creased I put it in the compost.. After all that the flavour one is looking for was simply not there. Avoid this product.
Some Were Squashy and Discoloured.
Very disappointed in these Jersey Royals as some were squashy discoloured and bad
Early in the season
Jersey Royals are seasonality on a plate. They are unique & we must allow for inclement weather which affects quality & flavour. This early in the season the true taste isn't quite there yet but still worth gentle cooking, dressed with butter (Jerseys are delicious cold with a green salad and lemon vinaigrette). Quality is patchy now but trim them up and well worth the effort with British asparagus and hollandaise. Don't scrape the skin which is beautifully tender in Spring. Lovely to taste how they develop over the next very few months when they will also be roasted which enhances the true buttery taste. Three stars at time of review to reflect quality & taste of the product in early season - would give five stars if I included effort of farmers.
very nice flavour
These were cooked slowly and then served with roast chicken and lots of butter
No flavour
These were tasteless with none of the earthy flavour i expect from new season's potatoes. Very disappointing/
