Favourites

Great flavour and texture, these are my favourite mushrooms. I like that these ones are often quite clean already and I don't have to wash off lots of soil before using.

They didn't shrink

I just cooked the whole pack to make a ragout to fill 3 large Yorkshire puddings. Just like old style vol au vents without the top. They were tasty and didn't shrink. I would definitely buy again.

Great mushrooms

Very good mushrooms, organic and decent amount, maybe a tad expensive and would be nice if they ditched the plastic for card (like Tescos have).

Decent mushrooms but in plastic

Organic but still being sold in plastic. The mushrooms are good but have to decant from plastic to stop them going off and it adds to my pile of plastic recycling. Will no longer buy while there are options available in cardboard.

Delicious and Nutritious

Excellent British grown Organic Mushrooms with a rich earthy taste that can be used in so many dishes. I sauté lightly then mix them with green vegetables like cavolo nero, use them in casseroles and stews, also for making risotto and pasta sauces from Autumn to Spring. They also offer an easy way to reduce one’s meat intake. Add sliced chestnut mushrooms, and a generous quantity of grated carrot, to lean minced beef when preparing it for cottage pie or a ragu and you can can halve the amount of meat required, plus gain the benefits of eating more vegetables, without any loss of flavour. The mushrooms always arrive fresh and have never been slimy, but I buy mushrooms in season, during Autumn and Winter, not in hot Summer weather. These mushrooms also keep beautifully; just remove them from the plastic container, place in an earthenware bowl and, if possible, store in a cool, dark pantry and not the fridge. I would buy these weekly but M&S are still using plastic containers which is completely unnecessary; thus, four stars not five and, for now, I only buy these to supplement my regular order from a supplier that uses home compostable cardboard packaging.

Been buying these for a while now nice big meaty mushrooms always fresh never slimy would recommend
