OK
So, OK, I do understand that spinach is a crop that picks up a lot of the surrounding earth, and debris, and I do think cleaning the crop before it gets to the end consumer is a good idea, but does the cleaning need to be so aggressive? I would prefer my spinach to arrive whole, along with the advice to clean it thoroughly, which I would, and I would treat it with the respect it deserves - not mashing the leaves beyond recognition.
Simply the best!
I'm so glad I found this spinach. It's always fresh and keeps for at least a week in the fridge. It's organic, washed and ready to use, and unlike other brands, the leaves are small and tender. Simply love it!
Usually glorious!
I get nervous buying bagged salads as they often arrive soggy, wet, rotten or crushed. This organic spinach is almost always glorious! It has a gorgeous creamy, earthy flavour and beautiful silky smooth texture. Generally it arrives in good condition with lovely dark green small fresh leaves. Delicious raw in salads and sandwiches, exquisite lightly steamed/wilted and drizzled with organic olive oil or avocado oil, and perfect added to risotto, pasta, curry and stir-fry at the last minute. If the leaves are particularly wet, the way to prevent slimy rotten leaves is simply put a couple of paper kitchen towels inside the bag. Plus, it is organic – important as spinach is one of the dirty dozen for pesticide residues. Certainly worth taking the risk!
