The worst pickle \/ chutney
Watery and thin - it looks like a pickle but is too thin and watery. It is nothing like a chutney either.
overpowering garlic
I opened this to be hit by an overpowering smell of garlic. Surely not, as its called Ploughmans, and garlic does not go with a ploughmans lunch! But there it is, in the ingredients: garlic paste. I like garlic, in appropriate dishes, but with cold cheddar and bread, yuck! Im a fan of M&S food, but this is all wrong. If I werent so parsimonious, this would have gone straight in the bin.

If you like gherkins you will love this. I unfortunately don’t buy my partner loves it.
Revolted by smell
Ugh - just no. looooove Heinz ploughmans and bought this as was out of stock and this is not a patch on it I cant quite place my finger on it in the ingredients but there is something in here I find repulsive. Spices are: cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, coriander, cumin, paprika, black pepper, cayenne, a allspice, fenugreek. may be the cumin am not keen on .
Favourite
I prefer this than the "other" one. Perfect balance in flavours and texture. Great with the usual accompaniments.
Perfect lunch accompaniment
Just ordered our fourth jar. This really makes a tasty ploughmans lunch. Add to a plate with a big wedge of cheddar cheese, mixed salad, ham & fresh baguette. Wonderful! This chutney has a sweeter, less sharp taste than Branstons pickle (which we do like too).
