Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and Chestnuts
Serves 6
Preparation time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 30 mins
You Will Need:
480g Prepped Brussels Sprouts
150g Bacon lardons
100g Whole/sliced cooked chestnuts
1 Tbsp. Butter
Method
1. Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil, cook sprouts for 7 minutes. Drain and run under the cold tap until cold.
2. Fry off bacon lardons in a pan until crisp, tip out onto a plate.
3. Fry the chestnuts for 5 minutes, remove from the pan.
4. Add sprouts with a splash of water to a pan and fry for a further 5 minutes until tender.
5. Turn up heat and add butter, bacon lardons and chestnuts and plenty of seasoning.

Brussels sprouts
I bought this prepped Brussels sprouts for Christmas lunch. It was very easy to cook in microwave and saved time.

Lovely
I buy these every week and only had one not so great pack, they still need peeling though. Great flavour and texture.

Needed to prep anyway
Most of them needed dirty stalks removing or leaves peeling. Might as well have bought the unprepped ones for half the price.

Lovely lovely sprouts
One of the many reasons I prefer winter food. Hardly any wastage so easy to slice and then steam.
