The pastry on this is so buttery it can only be explained by witchcraft. I don’t know what magic hocus pocus was used but dammmmnnnn! So good!
We all have different tastes but Im very surprised at all the negative reviews , we had this with friends on New Years Eve and we all thought it was delicious!
purchased on price drop
thank heavens i bought this on a price drop as i would have been even more disappointed than i would have been. cooking time took far longer than stated and pastry was pretty wet. needed more filling. tarte tatin is far nicer
The filling was lovely and the overall taste was delicious, but the base of the pastry was just too tough. Honestly had to use a knife and fork to eat it which was was a bit ridiculous.
Very small, to start with. Dont think of serving more than four people with a very modest portion. Cooking instructions said nothing about greasing the baking tray, I cooked it in a piece of foil and it welded itself to it so I lost the bottom layer of pastry. And after all that its just bland. Can we have the M&S frozen apple pie back please?
Too much pastry, not enough flavour
Very disappointed with this M&S offering. Puff pastry was light and fluffy….but the apple and caramelised apple was virtually non existent. No taste of apple, caramelised or otherwise. Terrible value for £6. Budget supermarkets sell beautiful sweet pastry open tarts packed full of apple for £1.99. Even a novice could make this with a roll of ready made puff pastry a tasty apple and some sugar. Could do better M&S :(
