Minimal prep and delicious cream topping!
The instructions on the app and packaging clearly state that prep is required. The blinis are a good size. The cream topping is delicious, and theres a LOT of it, so you can afford to be generous with it. The salmon comes nicely flaked, so the prep is minimal. This purchase worked out very economical compared to buying the elements separately and was a godsend as a Christmas lunch canapé. We garnished them with some M&S cod roe caviar and they looked great. I would definitely buy these again.
Dried out and very tough blinis
The smoked salmon an cream cheese were fine, but the blinis were bone dry from the moment we opened them and assembled (you may not know you have to self assemble these) and frankly the blinis stuck in the throat. We ended up just picking the salmon off and eating that.
the picture is misleading
Just a few pancakes, salmon and sauce you need to do the job yourself. Would be much cheaper bought separately
Expensive & require assembly
For the fact that these are not ready to serve they are incredibly expensive! I have just looked and M&S smoked salmon alone is a portion of the price, wish I had researched better and bought all the bits seperately.
Not ready to serve, not as pictured
The box comes with a tub of cheese spread, a packet of blinis (that need to be cooked on a baking tray) and a normal pack of smoked salmon that needs chopping into 20 portions. I had been planning to take the box out of the fridge and serve these just as people were arriving to my party! Something to be aware of is the 20 min lead time to prepare these and also then the need for extra fridge space to store them all, if pre-prepared.
marketing error
These are not ready made. Its basically a kit with salmon cream cheese and blinis
