Classic Sponge Cake
Makes a 2-layer 20cm cake
A show-stopping classical cake, perfect for all celebrations.
1 Box sponge cake mix
3 Eggs
100ml Semi skimmed milk
100g Unsalted butter, softened
2 x 20cm Round greased and lined cake tins
Oven 180°C / Fan 160°C / Gas mark 4
1. Preheat the oven.
2. Empty the cake sachet into a bowl and add the milk, eggs and softened butter.
3. Whisk for 1 min to combine
4. Divide the mix between the cake tins and bake for 25-30 mins until risen and golden brown
5. Allow to cool on a cooling rack
Classic cupcakes
Makes 12
Fluffy and sweet cupcakes ready for decorating.
1 Box sponge cake mix
3 Eggs
100ml Semi skimmed milk
100g Unsalted butter, softened
12 Cupcake cases muffin tin
Oven electric 180°C / Fan 160°C / Gas 4
1. Preheat oven.
2. Empty the cake sachet into a bowl and add the milk, eggs and softened butter.
3. Whisk for 1 min to combine
4. Divide the mix between 12 cupcake cases and bake for 12-15 mins.
5. Allow to cool on a cooling rack
