Zinfandel vines are hardy, producing grapes for many years. Their barks resemble tangled knots, especially when grown in Lodi, California's Central Valley. They ripen unevenly, with green and purple grapes plus raisins on the same bunch, causing the wines to display a myriad of flavours from plums to chocolate. This example is made by the O'Neill Family Winery from fruit grown using sustainable farming practices that care for the environment.
