History

The MadFish story begins at Southern Western Australia's breathtaking MadFish Bay, where two tides collide to create a spectacular display of leaping fish. This extraordinary natural event inspires us to capture the essence of place in every bottle. MadFish is an iconic Australian family-owned brand, recognised both locally and internationally. Regional information

Margaret River has more of a moderate climate compared to the cooler Great Southern region. Therefore, the grapes from Margaret River will be slightly riper, exhibiting more tropical fruit aromas while the Great Southern fruit possesses higher acidity and floral notes - when mixed together it is the perfect balance between the two.

Vinification details

Cooler temperatures and dry weather created ideal conditions for a long but exceptional vintage in Margaret River and Great Southern. Winter rains replenished soil moisture and dams, setting the stage for the growing season. A mild spring with late budburst was followed by warm, dry conditions that benefited flowering, canopy growth, and fruit set in Margaret River. Great Southern had cooler, wetter weather, leading to lower yields but fuller ripeness at harvest.
