Used to come with more seasoning
Only a few months ago the flavour sachets had a decent amount of powder. However the last two had a very paltry amount which isnt enough to properly season the potatoes. Unless you want to dump in a load of extra seasoning of your own, avoid until they decide to not get an extra tuppence in profit.
I bought them because they were cheap
That was sensible as the flavour is rubbish I just thought I would try it once. I shall use the rest without it. I think theres nothing wrong with the idea that Fry should just taste of fries, rather than taste of kippers or elephants toenail
Not particularly flavourful
Fed 2 teen boys with one third of the bag (I used scales to judge it!) Just tossed on the tray, didn't bother with the bowl and cooked a couple of minutes longer. They both loved them.
gone up 10 per cent
fries are quite good. you can add the flavouring or just have them plain with a little salt and they cook nicely in the air cooker. but they were £3 and now £3.30. I know prices are rising but 10% overnight is quite a hike.
Too sweet & too much hassle
There are 3 sachets of BBQ powder in there so that suggests you need to judge 1/3 of the chips per sachet. So you pour some out, you put some back in the bag and so on until you think you're at 1/3. Then you have to add the seasoning, which doesn't go on evenly, you need to stir a lot to spread it around. The chips themselves crisped up well and tasted good but the seasoning was too sweet for my taste - I didn't taste any real BBQ flavour. Gave them 2 stars because they were free but for the hassle and the added washing up of the bowl & spoon - I won't be buying them again. Just buy the chips ready seasoned if that's what you want.
