Recipes

Basic pizza dough
Ingredients:
- 500g McDougalls '00' flour
- 7g McDougalls fast action dried yeast
- 330ml Lukewarm water
- 1 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tsp salt
- 1 Tsp sugar
Makes 1 large or 2 medium pizzas
Prove time: 60 mins
Prep time: 20 mins
Cook time: 20 mins

Directions:
1 Add the McDougalls '00' flour, sugar and salt to a large bowl, then stir in the McDougalls dried yeast.
2 Stir in the water and olive oil by hand. Knead for 10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes in an electric mixer fitted with a dough hook until you have a smooth, tacky but not sticky dough ball.
3 Lightly oil a large bowl, add the dough and cover with a clean, damp tea towel. Leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
4 Preheat the oven to 220°C/200°C/ Fan/Gas mark 7.
5 Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and roll out the dough to the desired shape (1 large or 2 medium pizzas). Place on a baking or pizza tray and add your favourite toppings. Place in the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
6 Remove from the oven, drizzle with olive oil if desired, cut into slices and enjoy.

Top tip:
To make a stuffed crust pizza place desired filling on the edge of the base and fold over 1 inch of the dough onto itself.
