Just look at the ingredients
Thought I would try this as an alternative to cornflour but just wish I'd looked at the ingredients list first! Maltodextrin, a highly processed carbohydrate that's been treated with heat, enymes and acids. Palm oil, why, just why? Dried Glucose Syrup, do we really need more added sugars? Soya Lecithin, extracted from soya beans using solvents. Think I'll go back to using plain old cornflour which has just one ingredient - cornflour!
Works every time
Great product which is so quick and fuss free to use.
Very good
Very easy and quick to make, perfect consistency with no lumps, worked really well to thickening gravy or sauces.
Does What It Says
This is heaven sent. When I've used corn flour as a thickener in the past, it's completely ruined the texture so this was perfect. It can be used in stews, sauces, curries, even for fish/prawn patties where you end up adding too much water and need it to bind. At this price, it's an absolute steal.
Just like cornflour
These are brilliant, I used these as a substitute for cornflour but they are in a more convenient tub that’s sealable and a easy to get out I’ll definitely buy these again
Now you see them....
..Now you don't..! Great for sprinkling over casseroles, stews, sauces, gravy etc., to thicken them. Once sprinkled into the dish and stirred, the little tiny white granules just disappear before your eyes and the result is a lovely thick sauce/gravy/casserole/stew. A store cupboard staple in our kitchen.
