Disappointed
Strange colour and, like others said, not much flavour you would expect. Can't trust it is a clean product with no trace chemicals from processing. Wouldn't feed it to the birds!
a staple!
this is lovely, saves me a trip to polish shop. tastes great, just like i remember from my childhood
Flavourless
This buckwheat is par-boiled and roasted, it is also packed in very neat and convenient pouches, which contain aboout two servings each. Somehow the producer managed in the process of manufactiring to take out all the flavour out of the final product. It still has the texture, however, the beautifull nutty flavour is gone completely. This buckwheat tastes of literally nothing. I will not be buying this again and will ask for a refund.
such a poor quality
yes, I must agree - finally! but not such quality Buckwheat. so poor, lots of burned black bits
Finally!
Finally Ocado started to stock proper buckwheat. Saves me a trip to the Polish store. Well done Ocado! We will stay with you just for this!
Useful shortcut
So useful that Polish buckwheat kasza now comes in a boil-in-bag version. Way back (I’m 74) my mother used to buy Canadian loose buckwheat that needed careful sorting to get grit & stones out, then steam-cooking in the oven - for god knows how long. This is not quite the same, but near enough. Thanks Ocado for stocking this, and the pearl barley one too.
