Montelobos Espadin Mezcal

Montelobos is an unaged joven mezcal, crafted from meticulously, cultivated organic Espadin, which is roasted underground and small-batch distilled to achieve a ideal balance of sweetness and subtle smoke. Montelobos Espadín is distilled from 100% organic agave espadín, grown in the shadow of Oaxaca’s Mountain of Wolves. The climate stresses the agave just enough to make it the best in the world for producing mezcal. We rotate our crops consistently and only select an agave once it’s reached maturity—up to ten years of age. For Montelobos the key to flavour — the key to mezcal itself — is balance. Much like tequila, the perfect mezcal rests inside a web of balanced flavour, elevated and made whole by the traditions of the past. Montelobos has the peculiar ability to evolve between sipping, making it a unique experience to discover again and again. The green notes from the agave botanicals, the sweet and caramel-like notes from the roasted piñas, and finally, the smoky notes that come from the pit all are expressed in a multilayered, multidimensional experience.
