Carefully crafted from organic red lentil flour, Mr Organic Red Lentil Rice is the perfect substitute for regular rice or pasta in any dish. High in protein and fibre and low in fat, it is an excellent ingredient for a nutritious, healthy and filling meal for you and your family. Make any dish unique with our red lentil rice by using it in a colourful rice salad, a hearty soup or as a base ingredient in a risotto.

Cooking instructions: Add to a pan of salted simmering water (use 1 litre of water for every 100g of red lentil rice). Stir once or just enough to separate the rice. Boil for 11 minutes or until al dente.

bland, horrible texture

i agree with the reviewer who said these are like bland plastic pieces, i'll stick to real rice.

Like rice but nicer

I have tried lots of this type of product and never thought they were great, but this is the exception. It is very similar to rice but probably even nicer in my opinion. When comparing to rice, I usually eat white basmati. Therefore this is much nicer than say brown rice in my opinion.

I threw them

I could not eat these things that tasted like bland plastic pieces they had to be thrown away.

Tasty TINY lentil pasta

This has exactly the same taste and texture as red lentil pasta but its shaped like big grains of rice. Its tiny pasta, not a rice replacement when you consider the texture - but a good higher protein, gluten free option. Inherently tasty and takes well to sauces, pesto, boullion etc. Will probably get again when on offer.

Excellent but expensive

This is a great product, great taste and ease of preparation. I would buy again if on offer, otherwise expensive (the box is really tiny)

Extra protein is nice, but more expensive

These grains don't hold a sauce as well as rice and the texture is a bit peculiar. One packet is about three small or two medium portions. Good for using with low protein veg dishes though I can think of more tasty grains.
