A substitute I found rather delicous

I certainly wouldn't have ordered the chilli pepper version, not being able to eat spicy food for a while. But, I used it anyway and it was much milder than antiicpated and most of all, it was very delicious and is now becoming addictive and a must by for me. This one time I can thank Ocado for a substitute I have enjoyed.

So good for a quick meal, I use with Linda Mccartney meatballs, broccoli and pasta.

No sugar

The best thing about this sauce is that it has no sugar added. I find others are too sweet (compare the ingredients to other brands) although I couldn’t taste any chilli so I added hot chilli sauce to give it a kick however I am going to make this a regular purchase from now on as the lack of added sugar makes this no. 1 for me

This has changed and not for the better

My original November 2021 review said: I love all the people who make their own and only buy sauces as a standby or for a quick meal...Me, I'm lazy and I like Mr Oliver, Mr Grossman etc. to make mine for me. I shall now also allow the Mutti team to make them for me. This was really good. Fresh tasting and with just enough chili kick. Not sweet which is also a plus. The jar is a really good size. Will buy again. But the recipe and name has changed and it's lost something. It's not just that there is a lot less of a chilli kick but the texture has also changed. It's still a nice sauce but average rather than great.

Recipe and label changed

The recipe and label changed towards the end of 2022 and the new version is really not nice. Thinner sauce with a really strange taste. I was a massive fan of the old version (Pepperoncino on the label) but will not buy this now. Very disappointing as it was my favourite.

fabulous

I have tried a lot of pasta sauces but this is the only one that I have tasted and not regretted I have not made the sauce from scratch myself. Tomatoes not acidic or sharp thanks to the great Italian tomatoes used .
