Baby Artichokes are picked before they have matured into adult artichokes. At this age, they have no choke or core and their leaves are extremely tender. As such you can pretty much eat these whole - remove just one layer of leaf and trim the top. Ideal for quick frying and tossing into pasta; for preserving. We source these from Sardinia and Campania.
Natoora sources fruit & vegetables grown for flavour, supplying you with the same produce used by top chefs.

They made beautiful pasta quickly. Just chopped into quarters and fried in olive oil with a bit of good quality bacons then tossed in fresh pasta with some pecorino. The outer leaves were a bit hard but was tasty.
I have never cooked baby artichokes before, but took a chance.Cooked in white wine, vinegar and olive oil with peppercorns, garlic, coriander and thyme for around 20 minutes. Let them cool in the liquor and then served, Very good and tasty, but a little fiddly knowing how much of the outer leaves to remove
These were fabulous!
Natoora/Ocado, please continue to stock these when they are in season. I braised these with the Natoora fresh peas & broad beans, and served over spaghetti alla chittara. My husband normally doesn't eat artichokes from a jar, but he had seconds of the pasta! It was so nice not having to deal with cleaning out the choke. These were so, so tender, and very tasty. I'll be buying them every week until stock runs out!
Most of the times they are very good
I started buying this artichokes in late March and they were always good. Only last week I got them wrong as tough and too big in size for baby artichokes, thankfully Ocado refund them. When I got them good, I have been making jugs of pickled artichokes in olive oil for antipasti and they are superb for it. Usually small and tender. I would definitely recommend while in season.
I got these with an offer and they take a bit of time to clean, but really worthy.
Found the supplier response on the review below very useful actually, so I knew what to expect. Ordered two packs of these and used in a Cypriot dish where the artichokes are braised with tomatoes, onions and peas. Was amazing. Yes, theyre small but they are baby artichokes, so dont expect to treat them the same as a fully grown artichoke. They tasted so fresh and tender and the dish turned out better than ever, thanks to the baby artichokes, which Id never tried before. Will buy again, especially if on offer.
