FLAVOUR IS A FRONTIER
Natoora Pink Fir Potatoes
- We source this French variety of potato from a specialist producer in Kent who farms on the Morghew Estate, an ancient parkland with rich, fertile soil.
- Pink Fir potatoes are an old French heritage fingerling variety dating back to the mid-19th century.
- With a light pink skin and firm creamy flesh they can have quite a knobbly appearance.
- Their waxy texture makes them a delicious salad potato with a nutty, earthy flavour.
- A versatile variety, they lend themselves well to roasting, boiling and mashing.
- Grown direct in the soil, this variety has natural protection from weeds and disease due to its good covering of foliage.
- Best roasted with their skins on for maximum flavour.
Take it further
- Roasted with whole stalks of rosemary and olive oil.
- Mashed, fold in spring greens and parsley.

Good flavour but went off quickly
Had these a couple of times and they started sprouting almost immediately. They needed the earth scrubbing off them and there were green spots so they needed peeling and attention which is fiddly due to size/shape, but the flavour and waxy texture were good and worked dressed with butter, in a curry sauce and in potato salad
nothing special
Nice enough potatoes but nothing special. here ate other potatoes at cheaper price. i don't think I would buy them at full price.
not 500g of potato
the potatoes are thick with hardened earth, too much to wash off, has to be cut off with a knife
Excellent potatoes that kept well
I was offered these in a flash sale and was very glad to try them. I was surprised at first how muddy they were, we're so used to getting scrubbed potatoes! I don't know if its that, or probably also the fact that they didn't arrive refrigerated from Ocado, but they kept far better than any potatoes I've had this year. I agree with others that they were floury rather than waxy but they were just so fresh (not at all soft) and tasty that I didn't mind that one bit. Only negative is that a few were green. I guess the thick mud coating meant the harvester, supplier and Ocado wouldn't have known about the inedible green ones! At half price I was happy to throw a few away, but they'd be a bit expensive for that had I paid full price, so one star knocked off!
Better for growing than eating
I actually double checked the packet to ensure I had not purchased seed potatoes in error! Only delivered two days ago, the potatoes are soft, some have brown mushy ends, and each of them has about twenty spouts. I see from reviews that some people have had good experiences with these and others not so, so maybe Ive just been unlucky. For the price it just is not worth the risk
Floury
Much more floury than any pink fir apple I've ever had, which are normally nice and waxy.
