Natoora Cuore del Vesuvio Tomatoes

Where do Cuore del Vesuvio Tomatoes come from?

Natoora’s Cuore del Vesuvio tomatoes are always grown by Raffaele in Campania, on stepped hillsides overlooking the Bay of Naples. Cultivated in volcanic, mineral-rich soil, these dense Bull’s Hearts are as distinctive as the landscape they come from.

What makes Cuore del Vesuvio Tomatoes so special?

Also known as Pink Bull’s Heart Tomatoes, Cuore del Vesuvio Tomatoes are sweet and juicy, with a high flesh to seed ratio beneath tender skin. The sun can sometimes burst their skin as they grow, and they heal themselves leaving a unique ‘scarring’ pattern. These unique taste, textural and aesthetic characteristics are what sets them apart from other tomatoes.

How should I cook Cuore del Vesuvio Tomatoes?

They are best served raw, thickly sliced, cubed or grated. When simply seasoned with salt and extra olive oil, their special flavour and supple texture is allowed to shine!

When are Cuore del Vesuvio Tomatoes in season?

These tomatoes are sourced from Italy by Natoora during their natural peak season between May and September each year, ensuring the very best flavour and quality.

What is Natoora?

Natoora sells flavour-first produce sourced through direct and transparent relationships with our growers. Not only does this create a unique supply chain; but through face-to-face conversations with our growers and tasting their produce at origin, we always know what’s in season, ensuring that our produce is at its freshest and most flavourful when it reaches you. Natoora also works with deli, dairy and dry goods producers who share our commitment to provenance, and we make our own range of soups, dips, juices and wholegrain sourdough breads.

Our packaging is plastic-free and home compostable. Dispose of the blue punnet in your normal recycling and the clear film in your food waste bin.
