Very disappointed in this product, it tastes and smells of pure alcohol, horrible.
Do not buy this revolting product!
Having just bought Sabrina Ghayour's fantastic book Persiana, I decided to make Pistachio, Honey and Orange Flower Water ice cream. It required three bottles of this stuff, which cost a fortune. It absolutely ruined the recipe, leaving it tasting of Mr Muscle. An enormous waste of time and money, and I will be asking for a refund from Ocado. I contacted Ms Ghayour and she said not to use this stuff as it's in no way authentic, and that you should use genuine Middle Eastern orange flower water for recipes, which is mild and has no alcohol. One star only because I can't give it zero.
concentrated orange oil
Adds a lovely orange aroma to desserts and cocktails - you only need a tiny amount to flavour cream, icing etc.
Doesn't contain orange blossom or water!
Orange blossom water is, as the name suggests, orange blossom extract in water. The Steenberg's brand contains orange blossom extracts and water, so it's a gorgeous, floral scent, unadulterated. This smells like paint stripper. It's made from orange oil - not orange blossoms. And it's not water, it's a hellish mixture of propylene glycol and ethanol. Orange blossom water is a gentle substance - this is flammable and the label recommends that you don't let it come into contact with your skin. It's a cheap orange food flavouring with posh labelling. Horrible.
