Nonya Secrets Chilli & Ginger Sauce

This version of the Singapore Chilli Crab sauce is made from fresh chillies, ginger and garlic and comes as a readymade sauce that can be added to either crab or prawns to create this classic dish.

Can be kept in the store cupboard until best before date. Once opened consume within 4 weeks.

Using a sharp knife or kitchen scissors, cut along the back of the prawn to remove the digestive tract. Leave the shell on the prawns as this will help to reduce shrinkage during cooking and adds to the flavour of the sauce. Empty the contents of the jar of Chilli and Ginger sauce into a stainless-steel saucepan. Heat the sauce up until it starts to boil and then add the prawns, stirring until the prawns are evenly coated with the sauce. Once the prawns start to turn pink and are cooked, 5 to 8 minutes stir in a beaten egg to thicken the sauce if desired. Serve garnished with thinly sliced spring onions or a few sprigs of coriander leaves and steamed rice.
