We had this today and it was so good that I felt the need to leave a review. Cooked it the Leith way as recommended by a previous reviewer. We like our meat rare and we had a large joint (2.1kg) as I was feeding 7 of us. The meat was really tender and full of flavour. The nicest joint of beef that I've had for a long time. I bought it as it was on offer but won't hesitate to buy it again at full price.
Delicious and So Tender
Made this for Xmas lunch, following Prue Leith's method. It was amazing, so tender and tasty, just the right amount of fat. Really impressed!
Nice but our bit had a lot of fat.
I was recommended by my friend. Its the beef she only buys. It turns out very good as its tender with good balance of fat. But its not cheap cant be everyday buy.
Lovely tender beef although quite fatty. The weight of the beef was at the lower end under 1 kg. I could have done with the higher end to compensate for the amount of fat. I initially cooked the beef covered, with thyme, garlic and onion. I added the potatoes halfway through. I cooked open for the last 30 minutes. The beef was served with yorkshire puddings, cauliflower and broccoli and finished with beef gravy. It was enjoyed by all.
I live alone and rarely entertain, but I do love rare roast beef. I took a chance on cooking the smallest available cut for only 30 minutes in the oven and it turned out brilliantly.
