Our Ocado chickens live in barns that have natural daylight with bales and perches so that they can express their natural behaviour.
There may be a slight odour on opening, which will quickly disappear. This is normal and does not affect the quality or flavour of the chicken.

Storage
Keep refrigerated 0 to +4°C. Once opened, keep refrigerated and consume within 1 day.

Instructions
Remove all packaging. Wash hands, all surfaces and utensils after touching raw poultry. Keep raw poultry separate from cooked foods.
Oven: 190ºC / Fan 170ºC / Gas 5.
Preheat the oven. Place chicken in a roasting tin in the centre of the oven and cook for 40 mins per kg plus 20 mins basting occasionally. Refer to front of pack for cooking time.
All appliances vary. These are guidelines only. All chicken products should be cooked thoroughly, until there is no pink meat and the juices run clear. Ensure the product is piping hot before serving. Do not reheat.
Suitable for cooking in an air fryer however, as all fryers work slightly differently, please refer to your specific manufacturer's recommendations for cooking method, times and temperatures.

If this was a large chicken Id hate to see the small or medium ones! There was literally no meat on the body when I started to carve it there was meat on the legs and some on the base. It tasted ok but it barely fed two of us. M&S need to review how they measure their chickens!

Ordered for the first time in a while this week. Have been buying higher welfare chickens on offer recently.
Horrified when I opened bag to find this poor chicken in the state it was in. Bag had small hole in it and had leaked into carrier bag and chicken looked pale and sickly. It smelled unpleasant and was improperly gutted.
I used to buy these regularly. But never would again. Will spend more or go without.
