Unlike most warm water prawns (such as king prawns), cold water prawns are wild-caught rather than farmed. All Ocado own brand cold water prawns are caught in the North West and North East Atlantic and are Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified.

* Monitoring the behaviour of the prawns - they often aggregate in deep waters in fjords to avoid predators
* Specialised equipment - Using sorting grids allows the escapement of bigger fish through the top hole, and of smaller shrimp through the second grid on the bottom.
