Ocado Organic Asparagus.

Bright green spears, with a light purple tinge at the top end and a pale green / white base, this asparagus has a distinct grassy flavour. It's reminiscent of green beans or peas, with a slightly bitter edge that is particularly enjoyable during the spring season. The texture is tender and slightly crisp without being stringy, when cooked properly.

Serve it as a versatile side dish alongside grilled fish, roasted chicken, or other light mains. Add raw or lightly blanched to salads for a touch of freshness, add chopped to risotto for a subtle flavour and tender texture and incorporate it into pasta dishes with light sauces or pesto. Asparagus also pairs well with various flavours including butter, lemon juice, Hollandaise sauce and Parmesan cheese.

Cooking Instructions:
Wash before use.

Boil:
Remove all packaging, trim stalks and wash thoroughly. Place in a pan of boiling water, cover and bring back to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer.

Microwave:
Remove all packaging, trim stalks and wash thoroughly. Place in a microwaveable dish with 2-3 tbsp of water, cover and cook on full power. Allow to stand for 1-2 minutes. Check, that the food is piping hot throughout. If not, heat for a further brief period.
