Wouldn't buy again, at least not without knowing the variety. Was hoping for some lovely seasonal Russets or Cox's but sadly not. I received large and very bland Gala, condition fine but they're already available thru Ocado in different packaging and cheaper 39.2p vs 55.6p each, makes no sense. More broadly why is the choice of organic apples almost entirely limited to dreary Gala & Braeburn or overly sweet pink lady? It's such a shame that we're losing some of the older and more characterful varieties that have different flavours and a bit of bite!
delicious British apples
Very big delicious and juicy apples, highly recommend.
First time I purchased these I received cooking apples (I buy them to eat fresh). Second time I dont know what the apples were but they were delightful, crisp and tangy. Third time (this week) I received gala apples which are large and edible but I am not keen on (and would never choose to pay this much for them). A one out of 3 success rate is not good enough for me and I do not think I will bother with these again.
Small - ok. Crispy - good. Incredibly sour and tart - bad! I winced on first bite, and every other after that and only managed half before it went in the bin. Think Ill use the rest for cooking. Must have changed since other recent reviews.
Small and tart
Unfortunately the majority of the spples were bruised, the ones that were ok to eat were nothing like feedback suggest, I think weust hace received a poor batch because they are very small, very sour and incredibly tart like sloes, making what's not bruised very difficult to ingest I almost thought we had bramley apples by mistake.
Very impressed, first time buying these, really tasty and crunchy , really fresh, delicious.
