Ocado Organic Free Range Chicken Thigh Fillets Typically: 420g
Product information
Fresh class A. Skinless & boneless.
Our Ocado Red Tractor certified organic chickens are reared on British farms, with the freedom to forage outdoors and an enriched environment in their shelters. They are fed on a non-GM, certified organic diet.
Because our chickens are active, explore the outdoors and are reared for longer, they develop a firmer texture with fuller flavour.
There may be a slight odour on opening which will quickly disappear. This is normal and does not affect the quality or flavour of the chicken.
Number of thighs may vary depending on weight.

Be very careful! Choke hazard!
Bought a few packs in a flash sale to put in my freezer. Every pack that I have defrosted and cooked has had tiny shards of bone. I actually choked on a tiny shard of bone in the first pack, which made me throw what Id cooked away. I appreciate the may contain clause as it is a get out of hell free statement but whoever oversees the butchering and preparation processing of these thighs should check their quality control, this turned out in every packet that I had frozen, maybe thats why they were being sold off. This is not about getting my money back as my refund window has now closed, but I now worry that somebody could choke so please be aware and double check, personally I would definitely not give these to children or elderly in particular. Im usually an Ocado fan but this has made me less trusting.
Shame
Always use organic chicken thighs and thought Id give Ocado a try. Tough and chewy unfortunately so wont be buying again.
Tough and dry
Bought these a couple of times and they are quite tough
Great quality
I definitely noticed a difference in quality between these chicken thighs and the usual free range ones I usually buy, Less dull looking and less fat on. Taste and price great too. Annoyingly they are always sold out!
Lovely with very careful cooking
Like a previous reviewer I took a chance, despite many bad reviews. It’s true I found a shard of bone hence four stars and cooked knowing I couldn’t just stick it in the oven and hope for the best. So I covered them in oil, ground fennel seeds, garlic, tarragon and lemon juice and left for an hour, then air fried for 20 minutes at 210. (check regularly as different sizes) They were juicy and very tasty. If you haven’t got time to do something like this, then these are probably not for you, otherwise good value organic chicken.
Ok
Bought this to try despite the mixed reviews. You need a strong, healthy teeth to eat this...lol. i guess its true for most organic chicken. The ones we've had were not hard but there were some chewy bits. To get the best out of organic chicken, we just need to consider the most appropriate cooking methods and cooking time, taking into account our cookers. I baked these for 25 minutes on gas mark 7. Prepared sauce seperately to add to them. Turned out fine. The tougher organic chicken meat won't please or suit everyone. But I think its worth considering as it is more healthy.
