Richer and more robust in flavour than white wine vinegar, red wine vinegar has a more pronounced acidity and depth, It's slightly sweet with fruity notes, and can have a mild tannic quality, similar to red wine. This makes it best suited to heartier dishes such as beef, pork, and roasted vegetables and is common in Mediterranean cuisine, especially in salad dressings and marinades for meats. You can also use it to add depth to reductions and sauces, and to deglaze pans at the end of cooking.

Did you know?
