Beef rolled brisket slow cooking joint.
Serves 3 to 5 people. Each 1kg of raw beef will provide approximately five 120g servings after roasting and trimming the fat.
Beef brisket is a richly flavoured cut of beef that's traditionally slow-cooked at a low temperature, ensuring a tender and delicious joint. Cooking guidelines
Remove all packaging. Wash hands, all surfaces and utensils after touching raw meat. Keep raw meat separate from cooked foods.
Oven: 160ºC / Fan 140ºC / Gas 3
4 hours
1. Allow joint to stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking and preheat the oven.
2. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a casserole dish over a high heat. Add diced vegetables and soften.
3. Place joint on top of the vegetables. Add stock, water or wine to cover half the joint. Bring to boil. Add liquid and place into the oven for 4 hours.
4. Stock, water or wine may be topped up during cooking.
5. Rest for 10 minutes before serving. Serve with gravy.
Slow Cooker: Medium / high heat
6 hours
1. Place meat in slow cooker with chopped vegetables and stock until the meat is covered.
2. Add a lid and cook for 6 hours until the meat is tender.
3. Stock may need to be topped up during cooking to ensure the meat stays covered.
All appliances vary. These are guidelines only. Ensure product is piping hot before serving. Do not re-heat. Not suitable for microwave cooking.
