Product information
Aged in selected oak casks, formerly used to mature Highland Park's beautifully balanced 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Ola Dubh (or 'Black Oil') is so named because it is gloopy and viscous. This limited release has been matured in casks from Orkney's award-winning Highland Park distillery to add complementary whisky notes to what is already an amazing brew. It is chocolatey with a roasty, bittersweet aftertaste.
Whisky Notes:
Special 12 Reserve
Highland Park 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was awarded a Double Gold medal at San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2007; it lends balance, smoothness and subtle smoke.
Special 16 Reserve
Highland Park 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky received the accolade Best in Class at the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2006; it extends a finish which is rich, long, smoky and medium sweet.
Special 18 Reserve
Highland Park 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was named Best Spirit in the World by F. Paul Pacult; it offers toffee sweetness, almond nuttiness and a prolonged, smoky aftertaste.
Highland Park is made with the same enduring belief and integrity, to the same exacting standards, as it has been since 1798. That's why it is the most respected single malt in the world, recently named Distiller of the Year. Like our friends at Highland Park, we at Harviestoun are passionate about quality. We hope you enjoy this Ola Dubh Special Reserve and you feel that our efforts to brew one of the world's finest beers have been worthwhile.

\x22Black oil\x22!
Ola Dubh "Black Oil" certainly is fairly gloopy. It doesn't pack the punch of many barrel aged stouts, instead the whisky adds a subtly peaty, smokiness to the chocloatey stout. Be interesting to compare with the other variations they make

awful taste
Too sweet yet also too bitter. Leave a cloying taste that sticks in the throat. Not nice at all.

Vile
Did not like this at all. Overly sweet, with weird aftertaste as if it had been brewed with sweaty jockstraps. Had to pour most of it away. Sounded great on paper too. And yes, I do drink stout and complex single malts.

Delicious
Complex flavours, lots of depth. I used it my Chistmas puds and drank what was left, and loved it. Highly recommended.
