This variety of pear was developed in Britain and lends its name to the fact it won first prize at the ‘National British Pear Conference’ back in 1885. Today it is widely grown in Europe and the UK and thrives on land which is sunny, rich and not too chalky. Our pears grow over 9 acres of valleys on the Kentish boarder, farmed in the perfect setting adapted to ensuring that the environment is looked after with a zero tolerance to waste.
Produced by a 4th generation grower and farmed in the infamous East Kent fruit belt, where both the climate, soil types, and aspect all play a part in providing the perfect conditions to grow Conference Pears. Here we grow enough pears to produce up to 750,000 bags! In addition, these stunning orchards also provides apples, plums, woodland and vines to help keep the growers and their staff busy all year round. Tip-: If you pop me into a plastic bag and seal then put me in the fridge, I increase my life expectancy dramatically and stay fresh.
Fact: Did you know that an acre of pear trees will extract about 15 tons of Carbon Dioxide from the air each year and produce 6 tons of oxygen too. So, by purchasing these apples you are automatically helping the environment without even knowing it!

Great pears impressed
Delicious and Soft
Took a few days for the pears to ripen, but once they did, they were delicious. There were more in the bag than I expected.
Where are they from ?
Good pears and a large bag but I would like to know that they are British. Its our season now so why would they not be. Please be more specific as to origin, how can we buy local if we do not have the information ?
Country of Origin?
