At Packington Free Range we firmly believe that what is good for the animals and the land will naturally be good for us and better for our customers. This is the philosophy of our great grandfather before us and we believe passionately in provenance, sustainable and ethical farming which fuels our drive to create an environmentally sound and welfare orientated farm, which will allow us to continue to farm the land here, in Staffordshire, for generations to come. It's this simple philosophy that enables us to produce the most succulent, richly flavoured meat, often lost in today's intensive farming methods. We know you'll enjoy it. Rob and Alec Mercer.

Had this cockerel for the last two years and ordered again this year. Great taste, lovely and moist and high welfare.
Excellent Christmas Choice
Full of flavour and very moist... Far prefer this as a Christmas bird... Much tastier than turkey... Would definitely have this again and again!
Expensive but worth it for Christmas
Being a chicken it stays moist, plenty of flavour and enough to feed a large family plus those unexpected guests. Large legs and lots of white meat. This will be our choice for the fourth year in a row superseding the Kelly Bronze.
Excellent choice for Christmas Day
Everyone preferred this to Turkey. Moist with a great taste. Already have it in my basket for Christmas 2019.
Ditch the turkey!
Not all my family like turkey, but everyone loved this! Moist and tasty, with plenty left over for a pot pie and curry. Thoroughly recommended. Will buy again.
I wanted to try something different for our Christmas dinner this year and came across the Packington Cockerel and thought this was worth a try, other family members was not to sure though. Anyway we had one and it cooked beautifully and the meat was nice and moist, unlike the normal same old Turkey that we had become accustomed to. There was not one moan or groan from the family who devoured and enjoyed their Christmas dinner and there was plenty leftover for Boxing Day alongside a curry on the following day. In fact one daughter said that the Cockerel Curry was the best curry that she had ever had! Regrets..None an out and out winner all around, we all would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone. We shall have another next year that is for sure!
