Beautiful white free-range eggs with a tasty, deep golden yolk, full of flavour from happy and healthy hens with complete provenance & traceability.
We've taken great care in selecting our white hen breed, meaning you get a deliciously tasty egg with a deep golden yolk in a beautiful white shell. All whilst decreasing your carbon footprint and ensuring high hen-welfare – things we are passionate about with all our farms and animals.
Up until the 1970’s white eggs were popular in the UK, but in the late '70’s shoppers switched to brown eggs under the misconception that they were a more natural, rustic, healthier choice.
Our White Hens lay their eggs in their mobile housing with nesting boxes, perches and scratch areas, nestled amongst woodland on the idyllic Patshull Estate. We have very low stocking numbers and they are given acres of pasture to enjoy the great outdoors and engage in natural behaviour like foraging, scratching, and socialising.
Packington free-range white eggs are the perfect choice for you; not only do they look and taste great, but by opting for free-range chicken and eggs, you contribute to the welfare of animals and promote a more compassionate food system.

Preparation and Usage
For the perfect Poached Egg:
Using your really fresh Packington Free Range eggs, crack them (one at a time) into a bowl or saucer first, this helps the egg to slide into the water more easily.
With at least 5cm of water to a pan, bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat so there are no more bubbles and keep water at a gentle simmer.
Add the egg to the water and poach for 3-4 minutes, 3 will give a nice soft yolk.
Remove the egg with a slotted spoon and enjoy!

Brand
At Packington Free Range we firmly believe that what is good for the animals and the land will naturally be good for us and better for our customers. This is the philosophy of our great grandfather before us and we believe passionately in provenance, sustainable and ethical farming which fuels our drive to create an environmentally sound and welfare orientated farm.
Our farms are in various environmental schemes, and we believe in farming in a way that increases regeneration and biodiversity, all having a positive impact on the land and on the animals. Regular surveys on our farms show that the number of different birds and wildlife species increases year on year. We have installed solar panels and use bio-mass boilers to help further reduce our carbon footprint. All of this allows us to continue to farm the land here, in Staffordshire, for generations to come.
It's this simple philosophy that enables us to produce the most succulent, richly flavoured meat that we know you'll enjoy.

weird taste
Weird taste cant eat them. Eaten many brands of eggs and supermarkets eggs.
Ok but I prefer my usual brand
Nothing special. I prefer my usual brand with very yellow yolks.
very thin shells
tried these eggs as they were on offer. love a boiled egg, but found that the shells on these eggs were very brittle and the whole egg collapsed on my plate. Would not buy again. Back to Burfords for me
Nope
Cannot see how they even attempt to justify price, bland and tasteless
Above average.
These were on offer, so took a gamble. They are fine eggs with beautiful white shells, definitely above the average egg. However, they just don't have the flavour of Burfords. So back to burfies for me.
The best eggs I have found so far
I keep a tiny flock of pet chickens and during the winter months they take time off from laying eggs. During that time I buy the highest welfare eggs that I can find. These eggs are also the nicest tasting and the nearest in quality and freshness to my own girls' eggs. When boiling these eggs they take a lot less time to cook than any of the other supermarket high welfare eggs and also make nice 'tight' poached eggs, there's very little watery egg white to be seen. Excellent and very highly recommended!
