Petaluma Yellow Label Riesling

Planted in 1968, the Hanlin Hill vineyard is a unique site that follows the natural contours of the Clare Valley landscape. The slate geology, sandy loam soils and Mediterranean climate are perfect for producing the highest quality Rieslings characterised with a backbone of high natural acidity and the intense lime flavours distinctive of Petaluma Riesling. Hanlin Hill is on the eastern slopes of the Clare Valley and is up to 500m above sea level.

Hanlin Hill Riesling displays extremely lifted and intense citrus on the nose, with typical floral notes. There is intense lime flavour on the palate, which is balanced by excellent natural acidity and trademark minerality. This wine is immediately enjoyable but will age gracefully for a decade or more.

Hanlin Hill is on the eastern slopes of the Clare Valley and is up to 500m above sea level.
The 2021 growing season was slightly warmer and drier than the long-term average (1773°C days). Clare received less than half its average summer rainfall (64mm) and warm temperatures from the 9th of February saw ripening accelerate significantly. We began picking on the 18th of February and finished by the 27th of February.
The 2021 Hanlin Hill Riesling displays extremely lifted and intense citrus on the nose, with typical floral notes. There is intense lime flavour on the palate, which is balanced by excellent natural acidity and trademark minerality.
This wine is immediately enjoyable but will age gracefully for a decade or more.
