Aromas of summer fruits on a slightly herbaceous backdrop. A medium-bodied style yet robust on the palate and will stand up to truffle and oily dishes. The estate benefits from the Veneto region's plentiful rainfall (average of 1200-1400mm annually) and a continental climate with cold winters and warm, humid summers. The vines are planted on pebbly soil which allows good drainage. The vineyard is farmed organically and grapes are hand harvested and carefully selected.

History
La Cantina Pizzolato has been an organic estate since 1991. Winemaker Settimo Pizzolato is the latest of five generations of Pizzolati who have made wine in this scenic part of north eastern Italy. With 50 hectares of his own and contracts for grapes from another 50 belonging to long-term neighbouring organic growers, Settimo runs a significant operation which is improving in quality and focus exponentially.

Vinification Details
Classic red vinification without the addition of sulphur dioxide. Fermentation was activated with selected yeasts, which produce limited sulphur dioxide, and took place at a controlled temperature of 25 degrees for one week. The wine was then filtered and stored in tanks at a controlled temperature to avoid oxidation.

Strange taste

Very sour tasting with bits in, almost as if it had been corked, although screw top..

Lovely

Lovely juicy smoothy fruity wine. My guests preferred this to the red wine they'd brought with them. I only drink no added sulphur wines and it's great to be able to buy from Ocado - wish there was a wider selection! I highly recommend aerating no added sulphur wines for more depth and less acidity. I aerated this and decanted into a carafe. It was lovely. I was worried it would be too light as I often find our cabernet Sauvignon wines to be too light, but I appreciated the body. Went very well with our meal.

GREAT TASTE OF ITALY

Perfect,gentle,medium .We absolutely love this wine, remind us of the wines we drink on holidays in Italy.Highly recommended

Not as nice as the merlot

I bought this as it is organic, sulphite free (no hangover!) and we enjoyed the merlot, but sadly this tastes as if it has been watered down? We still drank it and enjoyed it but wouldn't buy again at the price.

Okay

I really wanted to like this as it seemed to tick all the right boxes. Organic, vegan, no added sulphites, and I generally enjoy a cabernet sauvignon. However, I found the overall experience a little disappointing. The flavour was alright, but it didn't taste full-bodied. It was actually rather thin.
