We have listened to you! Starting now, discover our wood-fired baked bread, directly available sliced.
NEW! The Poilâne® Rye Bread is meticulously crafted using stone-milled rye flour and Poilâne’s natural sourdough starter. Each loaf is carefully handmade and baked in London, in our wood-fired stone oven.
Traditionally, the Poilâne® Rye Bread is a perfect accompaniment to oysters, seafood, and smoked fish. It also pairs excellently with smoked meat and goat cheese.
The unsliced loaf format contributes to the bread's extended freshness, as its crust effectively preserves the moisture within the crumb. As a delightful suggestion, we recommend toasting slices in the later days to further enhance your experience.

awful
Bought in flash sale. Very dry and nearly impossible to cut.
My sourdough is ways better
I bought this on flash sale because I like baking wholemeal sourdough myself and wanted to check out a bakery product for comparison. This loaf was denser than a brick and even my worst loaves have never come out as bad as this one. I would not recommend it , unless you like super dense crumbs. It was also hard to cut through it.
tough
Bought this as I thought it was their Country bread, way to dense texture and eventually had to throw it out as unusable
Hard
I'm so sorry to write a bad review but this bread was so hard that it was difficult to cut, and difficult to bite through a slice. If it is designed to be used in cooking or softened in particular dishes, it would be a good idea to write this on the label. The other Poilane bread - rye and currant - is absolutely wonderful and completely different to this.
Simply great
So refreshing to have nothing but essential ingredients
How embarrassing
The people who give this bread negative reviews don't know what they're on about, only serving to display their ignorance. How this bread is how it's meant to be. If you've ever had dishes such as Sopas Mallorquinas or Pa Amb Oli, you'd understand that this bread is ideal. You can rub on the garlic, squish on tomatoes & drizzle on the oil and it soaks it up but holds together, It's bread designed to add moisture to.
