Viña Pomal White is a fresh and balanced white wine from Rioja, made with the region´s traditional Malvasia and Viura grape varieties. This white wine presents a rich aromatic bouquet of white fruits, citrus and a slight toastiness from its 4 months ageing in American and French oak.

Founded in 1901 in the town of Haro’s legendary Station Quarter, Bodegas Bilbaínas is the longest-standing bottling winery in Rioja. It also has the most extensive underground cellars in the region and a greater area of vineyards than any other winery in the town: 250 hectares of high quality vines, which supply the winery with its own grapes, ensuring that they can be processed quickly without losing their qualities.

The Viña Pomal estate covers 90 hectares of vineyards located inside the municipality of Haro and less than 2 kilometres from the winery, in one of the town’s most beautiful enclaves, overlooking the Ebro river. Our estate features different ecosystems with different soils and varying degrees of exposure to the sun, and combines traditional Rioja practices with precision winegrowing techniques, which result in state of the art environmentally friendly winegrowing, always with a view to obtaining premium quality.

A pale yellow with slight greyish steel hues. A rich aromatic bouquet. Notes of white fruit, citrus and fennel with a light toastiness from aging in oak. Friendly and fresh on the palate, transmits the balance of the fruit with certain notes of salinity. Good length and volume provide the fineness of a single area where we work these strains of white.

Serve slightly chilled, between 9º-10ºC. It matches perfectly with fish and seafood dishes but also with mild dishes such as vegetables, purées and cheeses.

White Viña Pomal is made from the region’s traditional varietals: Viura and Malvasía. The must is fermented in new barrels of American oak and French oak (50/50) for 4 months before being bottled.
