Weird indigestion from this product.
I am a big fan of Quorn products - especially the southern fried nugs and the escalopes (the chicken is always amazing). However, this one really was nothing like bacon and it gave me bad indigestion. I think they should think about revising this recipe with the influx of new vegans over the last couple of years! If you want something more accurate, go for 'THIS ISN'T Bacon' rashers.
Slippery slimy slices
I love the quorn deli bacon slices but they seem to have disappeared from the market, so I thought let's try these instead, they must be the same or at least similar. What a mistake. The frozen bacon slices are absolutely disgusting, they taste awful and are coated in slime. The slime does not disappear with cooking. This is how I imagine eating snails must feel like. Never again.
Perfect for a veggie BLT
We always have a couple of packets in the freezer. Easy to separate slices with a brief zap in the microwave. I think it’s best grilled so it’s crispy but I sometimes fry it if I’m doing a cooked breakfast and that’s good too.
Only buy this if I can’t buy the Tesco bacon. This Quorn bacon is a little slimey and slippy (where’s the texture?) and stuck together like a ROCK fresh out the packet.
not for me
Genuinely how I'd imagine a fried rubber flip flop to taste and feel
Tasty and how to divide,
My husband if he use these as they are straight from freezer its best to defrost in microwave for a minute or two then separate each slice you need then either put the rest in the fridge for another time it should be alright for at least two or three days or do what I do and defrost all the packet then separte what you need and put back in freezer and that works and we have had these for years and never been ill, through doing this.
