not suitable for vegans
this is in the vegan mince section on Ocado but is not suitable for vegans....wanted to put this here as many people mistakenly think it is.
Does the job
OK, texture way too soft and if cooking in a sauce it just blends in with the sauce. be perfect if it had more substance and texture.
Tried them all and this is the best
I've tried every veggie mince out there and this one never lets me down. It retains its shape and texture unless you boil it or something. Great for a bolognese, chilli or whatever. My favourite is mixing a little rice with it and using it in stuffed cabbage leaves.
Truly foul
Soft and tasteless, yet coats the roof of your mouth for the rest of the day. Chopping up an aubergine or mushrooms would be cheaper, tastier and more filling. Avoid.
Oddly soft
Had it in chilli with beans to give it some bulk which was fine but I don’t think I could have this by itself just as mince
Excellent meat free protein
Very good alternative to meat which is easily digestible and takes flavour well.
