In Hindi "basmati" means "rich in fragrance". It is an aromatic rice, with a long and narrow grain which tastes like hazelnut, particularly in its wholegrain version.
The wholegrain basmati rice, thanks to a very delicate processing, maintains its original flavour and nutrients. If you try it, you will feel all the flavours of the places in which it's cultivated.

not the best
Didn't really like this. I was sent the product to review. Wouldn't buy again
Was given this for free from Ocado to review. Used it in a oven baked risotto recipe and it tasted lovely and not stodgy. The grains of rice were still individual rather than mashed together. Haven't tried out the conventional method in order to assess the 10 minute cooking time.
Took ages to cook and was not nice.
Quick to cook
I prefer regular brown basmati as the grains are longer but this cooked very quickly and is worth buying if you want a quick cook brown rice. Tastes just fine too
Average basmati rice
Nothing particular just an average one.
