Product Information
Roku Gin is The House of Suntory’s premium craft gin. The first expression within the Seasonal Festival Collection, Roku Sakura Bloom Edition builds on the quality and concept behind Roku Japanese Craft Gin: unique, authentically Japanese gin. It is inspired by one of the most celebrated Japanese festivals and one of Roku’s key ingredients, the Sakura Flower (cherry blossom).
Crafted by Japanese artisans with meticulous attention to detail, Roku is a perfect balance of flavours. The gin’s unique taste comes from six Japanese botanicals – Sakura flower, Sakura leaf, Yuzu peel, Sencha tea, Gyokuro tea and Sansho pepper. A complex multiple distillation process brings out the best in each.
This gin is the true embodiment of ‘Shun’ where each botanical is harvested at its peak flavour, in this case highlighting one particular season – Spring. The Sakura Bloom Edition celebrates the annual Hanami “flower viewing” festivals in Japan. It captures the freshness and brightness of Springtime, bringing a soft and sweet floral taste, layered with hints of saltiness from the blossom leaves.
These flavours intertwine with the harmonious blend of botanicals, naturally enhancing the sweetness of Roku and resulting in a delicately complex Roku gin in full bloom. The recommended perfect serve is a gin & tonic, with one part Sakura Bloom Edition, three parts tonic water and a pink grapefruit garnish.
Tasting Notes:
Roku is bright and inviting on the nose, evoking the freshness of early spring. Gentle and soft floral scents of cherry blossom, reminiscent of a Japanese garden, mingle with a fruity and sweet taste. A hint of salty Sakura-mochi, the traditional sweet of the season, perfectly complements Roku’s original botanicals. A lingering finish invites the next sip.
Serve:
Roku Sakura Bloom Edition is perfect for a gin and tonic. Simply fill a highball glass with ice, then add 50ml of Roku. Top with 150ml tonic water, then garnish with a slice of pink grapefruit as the final touch.
Please drink responsibly: The UK Chief Medical Officers recommend adults do not regularly drink more than 14 units per week

Brand details
Roku is Japanese for the number six, and each bottle of Roku gin is infused with six special botanicals. Each one is sourced in Japan, at the peak of its season. With every sip of Roku you travel through the four seasons. Spring with its floral notes of Sakura flower and Sakura leaf, summer with herbal Sencha tea (green tea) and Gyokuro tea (refined green tea), followed by the spicy Sanshō pepper of fall and bitter winter notes of yuzu peel. Drawing upon a hundred years of craftsmanship, this craft gin is alive with the seasons of Japan.
