In Gigondas, grape cultivation and olive growing date back to ancient times. As early as the 1st century BCE, Julius Caesar established a colony of veterans here. One, known for his joy, inspired the name Gigondas—derived from 'Jocundatis', meaning joyful.

ROMAIN DUVERNAY

Gigondas wines are aged partly in stainless steel to preserve fruit purity and partly in wooden vats and oak barrels to refine tannins. After many months of ageing, the wine is bottled once balanced and round.
