Chilli Rub WITHOUT A Chilli Kick
So disappointed. No discernible flavour and definitely no chilli kick. A whisper at best. Not worth the price.
Good taste and good smell
I love quick cooking. This one is perfect for that. I just marinated the meat - I used chicken, but I think it will go with other "birds" as well - in the rub the night before - and grilled it next day. I think it will go for oven backed meat as well. Yes, I do recommend it! Tastes very good!
Tried this on some chicken breasts, left for a few hours before oven cooking. Really lovely flavour but might try leaving it overnight next time as it wasnt very strong.
The Meat & The Vegetarian Sausages Tasted Great!!
As it was the first time I used a chilli rub for chicken I did not know what to expect, but I was not disappointed. The powdery content of the jar just needs to be rubbed into the meat and left to marinade for at least one hour, but preferably for longer, as that will more deeply infuse the herbs into the meat. We then decided to barbecue the chicken wings and drumsticks and added some vegetarian sausages too for good measure. The flavour of the meat turned out to be excellent, with the rub imparting a strong hot and smoky taste to all the cooked meat and to the vegetarian sausages too. The jar came with a best before date due to expire in over two years, and as the amount you get is a generous 50 g, 1.8 oz of rub, it will last for at least two barbecue sessions, that is depending on the amount of meat one will be choosing to cook of course. We chose to use very mild tasting vegetarian sausages for our experiment with the Rub, because we reckoned that already very spiced sausages would have ended up tasting far too strong.We also like the versatility of this barbecue rub because it can be used with beef and pork, and with vegetarian sausages too.
The perfect kick.
I rubbed this onto chicken breasts and left in for approximately 3 hours. Simply wrapped in foil and placed in the oven to bake. I served it with salad and coleslaw and it was a real winner! We found the chicken had just the right amount of kick and perfectly seasoned it. I love using products that are so quick, easy and simple to use and it will be so versatile on other meats too. I recommend and will buy again.
Great with homemade chips!
This is versatile, and even went well with a little oil as a coating for homemade chips. Not much going on in the way of chilli, but a very good taste nonetheless.
